After touring and performing on the world’s most legendary stages…

Giorgia Fumanti launches Elysium

Giorgia Fumanti, the internationally acclaimed Tuscan-born soprano, is launching her fifth album today. Produced under the Universal Music label, Elysium features original songs and contemporary hits reinterpreted as only the inimitable operatic pop singer can. The warm, pure tone in her voice transcends musical interpretation, bringing listeners into the heart of her lyrical world. Elysium is being launched in Canada and will then be released in other countries.

Elysium is a state of mind, a feeling somewhere between happiness and bliss. It is our natural state of mind and what Giorgia Fumanti feels when she sings. It is also the backdrop that guided the creative process of this album. “I want my music to be an expression of my soul and for my voice to communicate deep emotions to a large audience all over the world, to all races, all religions and all nations,” explains the soprano, who remains surprisingly humble despite her unique gift.

Giorgia Fumanti’s enchanting crossover album features such popular songs as Somewhere in Time and L’Amore Vincera (from the movie Out of Africa), whose music was written by five-time Oscar winner and four-time Grammy winner, the late John Barry, the composer behind the music of Dances With Wolves and 11 James Bond movies. Elysium also features such classics as Dream A Dream, from Gabriel Fauré’s Pavane; Spente le Stelle, popularized by Emma Shapplin; Lionel Richie’s Endless Love; Lucio Dalla’s soul-stirring Caruso; Abba’s I Have A Dream; and The Rose, the title song of the eponymous film about Janis Joplin’s tragic life.
She also treats her fans to her interpretation of Nessum Dorma in a virtual duet with the greatest opera singer of all time, Luciano Pavarotti.

Over the coming months, Giorgia Fumanti will take part in the song Shine with a variety of popular classic, pop and rock singers, to support victims of the March 2011 Japanese earthquake. She will also promote her new album through a series of concerts in Asia, Italy and the United States, among other countries.
